Ingredients & Sourcing

Medicinal crystals and stones used to craft Wildling tools are mindfully selected for their skin benefits, as well as their healing effects on the physical and emotional body. This practice of "stone medicine" is one of the ancient Taoist healing techniques. 

Artisan crafted from sustainably sourced Bian stone, an amalgamate of 40+ minerals known for their healing and rejuvenating properties. White “veins” of various sizes may appear on the stone. These veins were formed as a result of a meteor striking a mountain in China 65 million years ago and are a sign of the Bian stone’s authenticity. 

This stone emits energy known for antioxidant and anti-aging benefits, including a measurable ultrasound pulsation and a far-infrared wave.  It also emits negative ions, known to promote relaxation and overall well being.

Clean your tools with warm water and a skin-friendly cleanser or soap.  Place a soft washcloth in the sink to avoid chips to your stones.  We recommend storing your tool in the Stone Pouch to help prevent breakage.

The strokes should be gentle on the face, especially around the eyes. Think of how gently you would frost a cake — yes, that gentle!  In fact, when moving lymph, it’s important to use light pressure. Learn more about lymph drainage here. 

The Empress Ritual is helpful for clearing breakout prone skin, however you should not gua sha over active breakouts.  It is beneficial to focus on the neck to clear waste material from the skin via the lymphatic system. To learn more click here.

Why did it take me this long!

"I was always skeptical of using a gua sha stone(I'm 52), not sure if they were truly beneficial. Then one day, after seeing my puffy face in the mirror I pulled the trigger. I decided to purchase the Empress Stone from Wildling because of the shape and material. I wasn't sure at first about the "comb" edge, I thought it might be too rough, I was wrong. I love doing one side of my face at a time and seeing the difference. I'm so hooked now and I'm considering the body stone. "I had one of these for 6 years and then it broke. When I replaced it I noticed the new one has some imperfections, including what looks like a fissure and a some divots. Hoping the quality is the same, and that this fissure isn’t a weak spot in this fragile and expensive stone."

Conflicted!

"I do love my body aura stone. HOWEVER! It ended up breaking the 3rd time I used it. It accidentally slipped from my hand because of the oil. I know the stone is fragile. I tried so hard to be mindful, but it slipped while I was doing my back. I have the smaller Bian stone for my face and love it, which is why I bought the body-sized version. I’m still using the Bian body stone, because I love it and IT’S BRAND NEW. But I have to manipulate it with care so I don’t get scratched or cut now that a chunk of the tip is broken. My advice is spend a little more and get the platinum so you don’t end up with a broken stone."

I would have given it
