EMPRESS NAME

One of the most important texts in Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Huang Di Nei Jing, The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine. We named our facial gua sha line after the female principal of the Yellow Emperor.

OUR CONNECTION TO GUA SHA

Wildling is founded by 3 non-Asian women. We share a deep respect for Traditional Chinese Medicine and are connected to its lineage via our education and professional training.

Wildling co-founder, Gianna de la Torre, holds a dual MA in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbology and has been practicing acupuncture (including gua sha) in California since 2009.

Wildling co-founder, Britta Plug, trained in the art of facial gua sha by acupuncturist Dr. Ping Zhang. She has completed training in Dr. Vodder’s Manual lymph drainage, connective tissue massage (through ASTECC), Ayurvedic face lifting (Mehta massage), Sculptural lifting massage, facial reflexology, and jade Tao 5 element facial method. She is also enrolled in ongoing studies in Qi gong, 5 elements, and Taoism. Britta has spent well over 1000 hours practicing facial gua sha on her clients.

Wildling co-founder, Jill Munson, has studied Western Herbalism at the California School of Herbal Studies. The study materials include Traditional Chinese Medicine herbology.
